The role of a manager in the functioning of a company is of immense importance. Before going for any decision, a manager needs to be aware of the possible outcomes for each of the options available. In the above-mentioned article, a research has been conducted on whether managers are open to take risk in crucial situations (Ahmadi et al. 2017). The result obtained from the research showed that managers of organizations willingly take risks if the situation demands. Considering the fact that managers require acquiring flexibility to in order to perform their duties towards the organization successful, the provided topic that is, management is the pursuit of flexibility is true. In order to take impromptu decisions within a short range of time flexibility is highly required. Flexibility helps the managers to adopt new ideas while communicating with the employees who have different cultural backgrounds. In both my personal as well as my professional life, I have experienced that having a rigid opinion about any topic often led to several disadvantages. Hence according to me, an individual needs to be open-minded in order to become a successful manager. Article 2: Your Strategy Has to Be Flexible But So Does Your Execution In this HBR article, the importance of flexibility during the execution of a strategy has been discussed. This article has put emphasis on the decision making the ability of the manager when there prevails uncertainty in the new ventures (Reeves and Charme di Carlo 2017). It has been found that the manager requires having future insights. Along with that, recommendations for the managers so that they can execute their strategies successfully have been discussed. While developing strategies, managers must ensure that the strategies are immediately implemented in order to ensure effective results. Managers must share their ideas with their fellow employees and accept the suggestion as well in order to design effective strategies. During execution, the managers must incorporate the ideas provided by the staffs so that they can understand their responsibilities and feel valued. While working on one of my group projects, I understood that flexibility is the key to manage a team effectively. In order to achieve the goal, the point of view of each and every team member was listened by my manager and a mutual decision was taken.
